One of my tubas was a bit sharp, and the mouthpiece receiver was a bit low for me, and not at exactly the right angle for me. Because it was new and silver plated, I was reluctant to have the instrument altered. I solved all three problems by having Doug Elliot make a longer shank for my mouthpiece. It's one inch longer than standard, and it works for me.
