Is it just me, or when strike votes happen, is it usually several player's unions at the same time vote to strike nation-wide? Not in the big orchestras, but the regionals seem to have their contracts coming up co-incidentally. Is "the union" something that professional musicians benefit from. I am fishing for comments based on legitimate experience, and remember it's pretty easy to read through a response that is fake (in other words, IF you've worked in a union shop, please share your experience?)
