Ben,

Hi! I'm currently a tuba student at Wheaton College in
Wheaton, IL, however, I do have some information on a
tuba teacher in the Indiana area.

As a high school senior preparing to enroll in a music
conservatory as a tuba-playing music education major,
it was very important that I took private lessons! I
was lucky enough to find a tuba teacher at Cedarville
College in Cedarville, OH. That tubist, however, lives
in Indiana!

I'm sure exactly where he holds his lessons, but he is
a very busy man and will probably not travel for your
convenience. If he lives near where you're looking for
a tuba teacher, he might be your man, though!

I don't really know if he's accepting students, but
here is his e-mail information:

John Tabeling (pronounced "tayb-ling")
tabeling(AT)rm1.net

He's very good! I recommend him highly. I didn't
really have that many lessons from him, but those that
I did have surely did help! By the way -- he lives in
West Harrison, IN. I don't know if that's near where
you're headed or not. He teaches at several colleges,
though.

If he remembers me, he probably knows me as the student
who just, unexpectedly, stopped showing up to lessons
without letting him know I was quitting. It was quite
rude of me, but that doesn't mean that I quit because
he wasn't good...he's very good.

If you ever need to contact me (you just want to "talk
tuba" or you need more help), just e-mail me hear at
this address or give me a call at (630) 750-6738.

I hope that you have luck in your search for a tuba
teacher! Good luck! ...and you might want to fix your e-mail address on hear.

Matthew S. Smith
