As to chops, I make the switch to trumpet from tuba much easier than
euph. I'm guessing there is some space overlap between the euph and
tuba embouchure muscles. I can play both if my practice time is split
evenly.
On the positive side, doublers always come in handy, and there are
several orchestral tuba parts that are actually written for tenor
tuba (euph).
