Try taking 20 minutes breaks between instruments. I Play tuba, euph and trombone, and if I go from one right to the other, it definately feels like I've messed something up. If I wait 15 or 20 minutes, then I have no problem. Also, doubling, from my experience, take a little while to get used to.
I also play bassoon and clarinet, and believe me, it's every bit as difficult to go between those two as it is between two brass instruments
