19 years ago at a pretty high level jazz summer camp the 3rd trombone was my former group leader from a very good brass band. next to him I sat on the bass bone chair once more. He has a very high level university degree in musicology, and I am at least decent in theoretical matters.

Where did we in synchronous movements take the bones down in a sight reading of a new chart?

When the music went temporarily into F#. The E# as leading note was unusual to our eyes, despite we both trained scales in all keys. But hardly ever put any music on the stand to do so.

Do not ne ashamed of theortical shortcommings. Take them as inspirations to develop furtherly.
