Turn your search engine on the author. He's a graduate professor in California, a scholar and writer in the fields of chamber music and opera. Look up the tuba in a lot of books on music and the orchestra, and you're not likely to be pleased. Most of them are nothing more than compendiums of pontification by people whom John Fletcher used to kindly describe as "a lot of failed counter tenors." (Actually that particular reference was aimed at critics, but these music book guys are no better.)

Worse - Look up this book at Amazon. 60-75 bucks. For a PAPERBACK! Perscription drugs, anyone?

Get a hold of Conversations with Stravinsky by Robert Craft. Read what Stravinsky understood about the tuba, as he used it, and as his contempories did. But I don't recall if there was an index, so you may have to read the whole damn book. There are worse things to do.
