I own a Rudy F. I got it at BW about a month and a half ago. It is the six valve model. I am not sure when it was made, but it is great shape. I tried all the F tubas Mike had and the Rudy beat them all(Miraphone, Meinl-Weston, Yamaha, Willson, etc.). The Rudy has a solid low register and intonation is not too bad. The high register is great. Response is easy and it is not easily over-blown.
The horn has a dark sound throughout. That happens to be the characteristic I like to hear in a horn. It is not a "big" horn as tends to be the trend these days.
In short, I love the Rudy F.
