As much as I LOVE my Willson EEb, I have to tell you that I play in a British Brass
Band with several people who use compensating horns (983, 981, 991, 993) and just love
them. Our section lead plays on a 983 and and produces a really beautiful sound. Now,
I would not trade all the 983s in the world for my Willson but I don't know it is the
answer for everyone. I can get several tones lower than the others but am seldom
called to do that in a Brass Band, playng an Eb bass part.
