I usually pour some oil down the first valve slide, wiggling the valves as the oil passes thru. then lay the horn horisontal, and lean the horn back and forth to get the most use out of the oil that is in the horn. hold it upright, and open your water key.

You might also have to open the back cap on the valve and put a drop back there, but usually not.

One thing you should know is Miraphone Tubas are prone to "lock up" when you let them sit for even a weekend. Be VERY careful about breaking them free. I usually try to manually turn the vavle by hand by grabbing the top of the rotor arn with my fingers, and then twisting. DO NOT use any part of the linkage, or he plastic parts will break. After they start moving, they should be fine right away.
