I worked this piece up my freshamn year of college. It's a light concerto, not absent of technical and lyrical challenge. I suggest learnig the work, without hearing it via recording. I feel that you learn it better this way, and you are not influenced immediately as to what expressions to add, or what liberties to take, by other players renditions. Also, if you're serious about learning it.. I suggest working on the 3rd movement first, as it's technically the most demanding. Then move to the firsy, only when you've got the 3rd nailed down, then the second. Then put it with the piano part. The accompaniment is not challenging to put together, but it's a condensed score, and will offer some challenge to your pianist. If you have the liberty of doing it with band or orchestra.. you're darn lucky. Good luck, and I hope all goes well
