Please find a different instructor. If his credentials include 'played since 7th grade', Regiment 95-97, and he's bragging about 50lbs instruments he also probably giving you some very misguided advice on how to develop on your horn. I'm sure he's a nice guy but I'm also certain that you can do better for yourself.
