Where can you find a plastic molded case for $400 since you said it was $50 more and what brand is it and i can guarantee that the wood one for $350 has no wheels and not much protection inside. There are alot of differences in the wood cases at different price levels. These differences are worth the $100 if you get the better one. Stainless piano hinge, 5 in wheels, cordura exterior, foam suspension interior for the tuba to sit on, tie down straps in the back, and handles for top and back for ease of use.
On the standard wood cases after a few years the handles break and the hinges on the back come apart. A case without wheels is not worth much to me anyway.
