I studied with Toby in the early 80's and I think he was teaching at four schools at the time. He was also playing a lot, and I never had any problems with scheduling lessons and he rarely played in lessons. So I think it's a mute point. However, if you want someone to hold your hand you should look for a school with a full time teacher.
