Yes, you're on a good track as far as BBb's are concerned. Be patient and someone will put a decent Mira-186 on ebay. As they are thin (particularly old ones) try to buy one that has NOT been refinished, as some klutzy buffing guys end up making these old bells "paper" thin. King is not my personal favorite, but a few hundred years ago I did make 1st in the state on a 3V King bell-up with very leaky valves - and with no lessons, beating a B&M Marzan CC, a Mira-186, and a MW-25. ' sounds like bragging, but nope - just a tribute to the King, as I wasn't that great of a player at the time, being mostly a classic guitar player back then. Too bad the new prototype "short model" King is not in production. Why didn't you bid against Sam Gnagey when that old silver King 4V bell-up recently sold on ebay for about $1150?

I wish that I had a Miraphone right now to sell to you, but I don't.
