Just to clarify....

I specifically asked about a trial period and was informed that there was none. The seller never heard another peep from me because I lived with the agreement I had made.

As to the price, I researched the going rate for such horns (including consulting two colleagues in NYC who had recently purchased older 184's), and determined the price based on market value and condition of the horn. Being too far from the horn to see it in person, I had to rely on the seller's description to make this determination. My error was trusting the word of the seller who, in his zeal to sell the horn, misrepresented the condition..... something he doesn't deny in his post.

Finally, this information was posted not to be confrontational, but because it is applicable to the current thread, and should serve as a warning to anyone buying a tuba without first examining it.
