I would recommend being a firefighter. I retired out of Los Angeles after 26 years. Work 10 (24 hour) days per month. That leaves 20 days per month to do whatever. We also had a really great "Firehouse Five Plus Two" Dixieland Band. Pay is great, Benifits are hard to beat and retirement is to one of the best.
