I have played the King which you are looking at and it is a very good horn. It feels a little more open than the average 2341 and has a very dark and present sound. I liked it personally and it typifies, to me, the sound I expect from a BBb. I am not familiar with the VMI's, but I have played a lot of Kings and this is a good one. I hope this info helps.
