For future ref. go with the 1st tuba on choice of tuba. If that is what that individual wants, then "resistance is futile" Put your self in that position. Wouldn't you want a 2nd player to play on a like instrument if you were on first? Anyways IF 6/4 York CCs work for the CSO then I wouldn't be to concerned. If you ever work as a freelance tuba player, then compliance with the section is vital, or you wont get asked again.BE A TEAM PLAYER!
