In his eternal wisdom the elderly, if not exactly oldest, shaman of this board hereby raises the profound question, whether it is a productive idea at all to provide a smaller bore tuba with a 5th valve.
No valve has to be placed right after the main tuning slide. Paxman have placed the final valve quite close to the bell on some of their double descant horns.
