Hello David. I just started my Freshman year of college and I recently purchased a 4/4 CC tuba. The horn can handle any situation that comes up. I would like an F horn for solo's/chamber ensembles. However owning 4 mouthpieces is a lot cheaper than owning two tuba's. You can take it for what it's worth. My .02 cents.
