If you like the PT-1, than a PT-4 would probably be a good choice. You are correct that the newer model is the PT-20, but with some digging (and luck) you may be able to find a nice used PT-4. I own one and love it. Good for large band and orchestra settings as well as quintet work. Works well for solo stuff too, although adding a smaller horn would be ideal (which I keep trying to explain to my wife; she keeps talking about bills or something).
Anyways, the most important thing is to play as many horns as you can. Even if it means spending a day or two traveling. This is quite an investment and you want to be sure that you get EXACTLY what you are looking for.
