Check the archives on this subject. There are some extremely varied opinions on this mute. As far as some pro opinions on it, I know that Jay Bertolet did not like it, but also I know that Norm Pearson uses his. I have one, and love it. It has increased my practice time considerably on days when I can only practice in the early morning or late evening. It is not ideal, but it is probably the softest, most free-blowing mute on the market. I only use it when I have to, and figure that practicing with my silent brass is much better than not practicing at all!
