Yes, I have an HB-6. I've had it since '80 or '81. It was rebuilt by Hirsbrunner about '87 after a nasty fall from the orchestra equipment truck in Hong Kong. It was even better after that. I use it for all the big orchestra stuff. Doing Tchaikovsky 5 with the SLSO this week (Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky Romeo & Juliet, Bernstein WSS Dances last week). I almost never wish I had something else.
I also have a Hirsbrunner 4/4 F I use for solo, quintet and lighter orchestra work (Brahm's 2 & Tragic Overture this month, Berlioz, etc.).
I, too am happy I do not have to buy these horns today. It seems they were expensive enough 20 years ago!
