I've played Eb tuba since 1954 and never considered playing any other key tuba. I am not a trained musician and play just for fun. I like being able to switch back and forth from bass clef to Bb treble clef instruments without having to fidget with different fingerings.
As far as BATs are concerned, my King bell front will rival any of them. I currently own two uprights, one bell front, two sousa, and a helicon.... all Eb.
I really don't like to tout Eb tubas too much... as the now reasonable prices might start going up!
