I, and my students, use a pillow that we construct and customize for each torso length. A Stewart Stand would work just as well, but with these pillows, we can slip it into the space behind the tuning slide and put the horn into the case. It just seams easier than an attachment to the horn. It also looks better when standing than a post sticking out of the bottom bow.

Truthfully, if I had gotten a Stewart Stand years ago (when I started using a prop) I would probably use it now, as would my students.
