I assume that you played a BBb when you played in the past. If that is the case there is no reason to try a different key, especially if you will be playing in the same type of groups. When I was in the same situation almost 9 years ago I bought a King 2341UB (upright bell) and it served me well. A used one is a great option if you don't want to spend much money. For that matter a used Miraphone 186 or Meinl-Weston 25 would also be good choices.

If you are ready to spend around $3500 I suggest the "new" King model 2341. The new ones have a fixed bell instead of the detachable bells of the older ones. They are very nice playing horns that are comfortable to hold.
