No recitalist me, but I've been to quite a few.
Most players warm up before the recital on both instruments, and just switch between them without warming up during the recital. But many will tune the instrument after picking it up with their accompanist.
In orchestras, I see player switch between instruments with no ability to play a note. But they often hold the instrument in their lap for a while, which lets them blow warm air through it and think about what they are doing. I've done this myself.
