Mouthpiece Puller ?

Has anyone ever had a mouthpiece puller that didn't pull the mouthpiece. A student of mine got her mouthpiece stuck in her trumpet at the football game Friday, and the mouthpiece puller won't pull it out. I have tried using a rawhide mallet to dislodge it, with no success. Any other ideas for how to remove the mouthpiece.
