I must say that simply because of my bass experiance i rarely ever play actual tuba music. I find that most of it is either very boring, or just over-blown technique fests.
I usually play anything from Bach violin/cello solo's (man, i can never get enough of that) to funk-ish style tunes on my tuba. I know there's probly something wrong with this on a "maximum profissionsy level", but man, I can play for hours and hours while actually feeling I have accomplished something and having fun at the same time. (suite III, prelude anyone???)
I have to say i love bass guitar and tuba!!!!! Go low-end all the way!
