I play bass guitar and tuba. I find that the timekeeping function on bass has done wonders for my tempo accuracy on tuba. I used to drag a little behind the beat all the time.
I also find that it makes it easier for me to lock in with the percussion section when playing with the snare on upbeats or offbeats.
