This may be a common moment, but after the quiet section with mostly chorus in Carl Orff's O Fortuna when the the chorus suddenly goes forte along with strings, booming timpani, and bass drum.....Sends chills down my spine!......and then, of course, the whole entrire feeling you get from Barber's Adagio for Strings. I don't think, in my opinion, that I can find anything more soothing, saddening, and peaceful all at the same time.
