R. Strauss - Death and Transfiguration. Mostly the last 1/3 of the piece that I like to think of as the "ascension to Heaven" with the octave jumps then resolving down one whole step.

R. Strauss - Serenade for 13 wind instruments. I played the contra bassoon part of this piece while I attended the University of Redlands. We performed it in the wonderful large campus chapel on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Those rich final chords combined with a view of the sun just setting between palm trees visible outside the door from the stage was just an indescribably warm, peaceful and content feeling that I will never forget.

C. Nielson - Symphony #4 The Inextinguishable. Full of to many "moments" that I cherish. San Francisco Symphony recording is my favorite.

I have many more, but these are the one's that immediately came to mind.
