Kindly name any school that really does teach critical thinking on a regular basis. If you can, then it is the exception rather than the rule.

If critical thinking was the object then no parent would ever object to the way things are taught or done. That's not the case so what do we expect the educational community to do?

Schools tend to teach a person how to show up on time, do his/her work to get by, and then be graduated. If we taught critical learning, then school would have a flexible schedule, teachers as mentors, no lawsuits, and no required discipline. Books on leadership principals, entrepreneurship, and a variety of other subjects would be taught to everyone.

I like to quote the current president on something he said at the Harvard graduation this past spring, "even a C student can be President of the United States". He is a perfect example of the real C student. B students work for the C students and the A students are their accountants. Think about the number of successful auto shops owned and operated by A students......

Just some food for thought.
