A few weeks ago I posted an inquiry about how long I might have to avoid the tuba after after minor prostate surgery, and I got one encouraging response in addition to the usual stuff going off on tangents. Anyway, the job was done on Monday, I got home from the hospital on Wednesday, and felt good enough today (Thursday) to do some playing with no problems. (I am almost 60 and in pretty good health.) I am beginning to wish I had not lined up a substitute for a gig later this week. Thank you all for your helpful advice.
