I think any serious college auditioner should be able to play the Hindemith Sonata, Vaughn Williams Concerto, and the Kraft Encounters. As for some orchestral excerpts, maybe Fountains of Rome, Bydlo, and Benvenuto Cellini. I know when I audition for college in a few years, I'm definitely gonna know this stuff, and maybe a flashy solo like Carnival of Venice or Czardas or something.
