actually, restriction does help response in the low register, but itīs more helpful to keep it open. Yes, many proīs do it, but still I find it to be cheating. Yes, a ride with just the OPEN mp is hard, but if you can do it, you can do it on any piece of junk and of course even better on a good tuba.. you know, lifeīs tough....
