I bought an Altieri for my King, and it protects pretty well. The cap over the bell combined with the regular padding works decently. You can have them make them in other colors than black; mine is forest green.
My only complaint is that the top of the pack straps are anchored so low. They say that it's done to keep the bell from hitting the back of the wearer's head, but it makes the horn difficult to balance. The key lies in keeping the strap around the middle of the pack reasonably tight and in not loosening the shoulder straps any more than absolutely necessary. With the big bell on the wearer's left, the bag looks lopsided when it's worn.
