The valve pad is designed to simply help you avoid bent or broken-off valve stems. the Altieri bag and valve pad provide a reasonable amount of protection for the new Kings. The valve pad is even more important for the new Conn CC's. With the enormous finger buttons, those valves are even more prone to have bent stems - worked on one of them yesterday . . .
