I was sitting in my usual place in the tuba section of our
band at an outdoor concert this week and got to pondering
the question
"Why are there no Female composers/arrangers of
concert band music? Tuba-Euphonium music? Brass Quintet Music?"
I cannot name even one and I've been
playing in community bands for well over 35 years and Brass
Quintets and tuba ensembles for the last 15 years.
Any thoughts on this subject??
