Yeah, definitely find a good store (WW&BW, Baltimore Brass, Dillon Music, Low Brass Werks, depending on where you live) and either go there in person or get in contact with the tuba person (Roger Lewis, Dave Fedderly, Matt Walters, Tony Clements, etc). These guys have good reputations for a reason.
I could tell you all day what BBb horns I like, but you've really got to go try them.
