Agreed, but it would be a nice change and challenge. I seem to remember seeing a copy of the 1965 Boston list with Proko 6 on it. I am really amazed that it isn't asked as it takes a whole different approach to the low register than either it's brother #5 or Fountains. Having to pop off a pedal EEb in a short duration is a little different than the Bb to EEb in the 5th. Clarity of line in the following short note section is not asked too much, Fountains is pretty fast and you could get by with a certain amount of largesse on it. The flowing section after the "chunky" part asks the tuba to play longer, more sustained and static lines. I guess if the piece were more of a constant on orchestral programs, it might be more of a staple in the tuba audition realm.
