Well, the main reason I want to get a new one would be to get more agreeable vavles.

Since the day i got it, the 2nd and 3rd have always been slow. Sometimes sticking completely regardless of my religously lubing them. (and with 6 different types of lube!).

As you have read my Severe pains post, you must know how annoying and painful slow valves are for me.

The 2nd and third reasons you have alreay mentioned: I want a more open sound, and a much "bigger" sound.

The Yamaha 321 has all of these, but it does not sound as solid as my besson.

My main problem, though, would be my valves. I need to get them working properly. So today I sent it away to a friend of mine in Toronto who fixes brass instruments.

I'll have to see what he can do, or maybe just tell me why they are so slow.

My options, as they sit now, are: getting the valves machined or buying new valves.

Im at a loss.
