C'mon Joe, don't give me that "monitor" b.s.

Charlie's a big boy, remember he's teaching at a whole bunch of different schools now,
and if he can handle that he can certainly shrug off whatever you might
have seen as (implied???) "teasing"

f.w.i.w. I think that making 5th valve a flat whole step on rotary BBflats and CC's reduces their versatility down in the "money" registers - and never saw that change as an improvement at all! The flat whole step seems to work better low on horns with different low range characteristics than typically is seen in the Mira style horns. Any "need" for use of the flat whole step 5th as an alternate up on the staff or above is kind of moot - you could have a 4-valve horn and use your lip in that part of the range. But, that's one man's opinion...and after all, some of us take the bathroom-wall scribbling farmore seriously than others, eh buddy?

All my best,

Phelpsie
