I am planning to fly Jet Blue to Florida in November.
I emailed them an inquiry about size and weight restrictions and got this reply:

"Each checked bag or container is weight-restricted to 70 lbs. each.
JetBlue will accept bags or containers weighing between 70-100 lbs.,
however, the customer will be required to pay an excess bag fee of $50.
Any item over 100 lbs. will not be accepted.

JetBlue also has a size restriction on baggage. If the bag is over the
62 inches in overall L-W-H, but less than 80 inches, the customer will
be required to pay the $50 oversized bag fee. If the bag is over 80
inches, it will not be accepted. If a bag is over the weight and size
limits a total $75 bag fee will apply. There is a $50 fee for each bag
that exceeds the allowed 3 pieces of baggage per customer."

I think the "L-W-H" probably means "L+W+H".
Other airlines may have their own policies.
Wish me luck.
