how about you find the bassoon prof at your college and see what they would recommend (ie, stuff not written for tuba)?
That way, you'd play something not often played on tuba, likely written in bass cleff.
You'd be a bit original, make more friends, broaden your horizons....
If you read treble clef, talk to the flute professor. (if ya don't, learn by next year)
