14 notes sure sounds familiar...maybe the Dvorak New World? Don't look at it as just 14 notes. It IS a chance to play. Do you live in a big metro area where there are a lot of other playing venues? As the saying goes, "don't cut off your nose to spite your face".
And think of this...there are many concerts that could be programmed that have NO tuba!!
