reminds me of when our jazz band played at the Sacramento festival. The organisers said they'd provide large instruments (drums, etc), I checked...yep, they could do a EE flat tuba...saves shlepping one from Western Australia, and I'm capable of playing well on anything, right?
Imagine my expression when, the afternoon of our first gig I saw what they had for me...a tenor horn.
Needless to say I take my own horn on tours now.
