I can't help but recommend the Meinl Weston 2145. Yes, it's a 4/4 and yes, it has a pretty dark
sound, but it is also quite full in sound. It's called a 4/4, but it's about the size of some 3/4s.
But the bigger valve set gives it a slightly larger sound. I've had such a good experience with
this horn, which I purchased from Baltimore Brass. The others tubists I play with here (both
BBbers) also love the horn. Great horn. I use it for my solo stuff, in our touring quintet
and in the orchestra.
