Some of you might remember that I sold my King 4-valve EEb helicon on ebay. It was in very "straight" condition, and I sort of regretted selling it, but the dang thing just took up too much space, regardless of whether I kept it at home or at the store.

Since the King sold for a pretty good price, I convinced my wife to let me waste a little time fixing up a REALLY EXCELLENT-PLAYING (but VERY distessed) attic-dwelling York-made EEb sousaphone (played NOTICABLY better than the King helicon, even though the York sousa had leaky valves!) and "converting" it to a DETACHABLE BELL (Does another one exist ??) helicon that I can not only store in a smaller space, but if I manage to build myself a case, I can fly to jazz festivals with it.

Well, I've been yacking about it on this bbs for two or three months...Here it is. I'm pleased, and I hope you enjoy the pics. Again, THIS IS NOT FOR SALE, ' just thought you guys would like looking at something that is both pretty and "nutty".
